Trainings I provide

Procurement Trainings

A comprehensive training covering the major steps of the procurement cycle, in 4 sessions for a total of 8 hours. The training is very practical and is based on the trainer's personal experience out of real cases:

1- Vendor Assessment

​Trainees will learn how to assess any vendor at different stages of the purchasing workflow, prior to asking for a quote, at RFQ level, once the proposal is received, before entering into contract, and after placing an order.
This includes notions of risk management and mitigation measures in order to secure the business transaction, auditing the vendor prior to entering into contract, closely following up on deliveries, etc.
Duration is 2 hours.

2- Purchase Order

​A deep review of the PO starting with ERP items creation and up to navigating through the different types of POs and how / when to use them.
PO lines, terms and conditions are explained in details, and tips are provided for deciding on when to consider a PO or go for a full contract with the subcontractor.
Frame Work Agreements and blanket POs are also covered.
Duration is 2 hours.

3- Negotiation Technique

​All possible ways of destabilizing an interlocutor and winning the negotiation battle are exposed in this workshop which also includes an hour of interaction and exercising.
A structured approach revealing two main methods for succeeding in a negotiation meeting, and their associated tips and tricks.
Covers both technical and commercial aspects of a negotiation. Duration is 1.5 hour of a presentation followed by an hour of practice.

4- Procurement Reports

​Six reports are exposed and detailed in this section of the training, covering risks, opportunities, planning, profit & loss, productivity, inventories, etc.:
-R&O Matrix
-Backward procurement schedule
-Minimum stock
-Budget monitoring
-Buyer’s KPIs
-Buyer’s load
Duration is 1.5 hours.

Construction Management Basics

​An introduction to the Construction Market and Construction Management for both technical and non-technical staff, in 2 sessions of 3 hours each:

Part I: Market, Stakeholders, Partnerships and Contract

  • Construction market and companies overview:
Classification of projects per type and industry,
Contractors of different company size and capability, etc.
  • Stakeholders in a construction project:
The Org Chart of a project, understanding the role of each of the stakeholders.
  • Partnerships in a construction contract:
JVs and Consortiums explained
  • Different types of contracts in the current market demand:
PPP, BOT, EPC, turnkey, procure-build and more…

Part II: Contract documents

Construction contract documents and terminology:
  • General and special conditions, bank guarantees, warranty period, milestones, liquidated damages, snag lists, take-over certificate, etc.
  • Submittals and how they work, both technical and commercial
​WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Employees of any non-Engineering department working for a Contractor or a Consultant will better understand their work environment and start to know the terminology of the construction contracts.

Fresh-grad and young engineers who have not been involved in contractual or commercial activities within their company, will start mastering contracts related notions necessary to better perform their daily technical tasks.

Cable Raceways in Industrial Facilities

A very practical overview of the different types of electrical cable raceways and how they compare when used in industrial facilities. Cable raceway adequacy to the load, corrosion, EMC requirements is explained in details and installation tips are provided all along the training.

This incudes routing, grounding, painting. Underground cabling systems are also briefly described and covered.

This training is given in 2 sessions of 2 hours each.

Part I: Cable raceways, how they compare

  • Context of an industrial environment and its impact on cable raceway
  • Quick overview of the electrical tubing in an industrial environment
  • Reminder of the different cables used in an industrial facility
  • Choice of cable raceway based on the use of cables: cable tray, cable trunking, cable ladder.

Part II: Cable raceway installation tips, underground cabling

  • General rules for grounding, routing, fixing, jointing, painting
  • Underground cabling systems
